Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, is traveling to the United States, according to a report by RBC-Ukraine citing unnamed sources.
Earlier, Russian “RBC News” outlet reported that an Airbus A319 used by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was tracked flying to the US, based on data from FlightAware and AirNav.
The aircraft reportedly departed from Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport in Poland on the evening of June 2, made a brief stop in Ireland, and then continued on to Joint Base Andrews near Washington, DC.
There has been no official confirmation of any scheduled meetings between Yermak or Zelensky and the administration of US President Donald Trump.
The visit comes amid renewed diplomatic efforts between Ukraine and Russia. Kyiv and Moscow have agreed to exchange all prisoners of war who are either badly wounded or under the age of 25, following the latest round of peace talks, which concluded Monday in Turkey.
Ukrainian and Russian delegations met there for a second time to discuss key issues including POW exchanges, the return of deported children, and the outlines of a potential ceasefire.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said he hopes to host a summit later this month that would bring together the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, and the United States.
In a press conference following the talks, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said both sides also agreed to return the bodies of 6,000 fallen soldiers each.
Despite these steps, Russia continued to reject Ukraine’s proposal for an unconditional ceasefire. Instead, Moscow offered a limited ceasefire lasting two to three days, Ukrainian officials said.
