Zelensky Makes Surprise Visit to Vienna for Key International Talks

Earlier, Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian president’s office, announced that Zelensky will hold several important international meetings during the visit.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Vienna on an unannounced visit on Monday, June 16, accompanied by First Lady Olena Zelenska. The arrival was broadcast by Austrian news outlet “Heute“ as they were welcomed at the presidential residence.

Austria’s Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen greeted Zelensky and the First Lady with military honors and a joint photo session at the presidential office.

Earlier, Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian president’s office, announced that Zelensky will hold several important international meetings during the visit. The talks will focus on defense support for Ukraine, sanctions, economic cooperation, and investments in Ukraine’s military-industrial complex.

According to “Heute,” Zelensky is expected to meet with Van der Bellen, Federal Chancellor Christian Stöckl, Foreign Minister Beate Mainl-Reisinger, and other government officials.
