Kherson Hospital Hit, Fires Rage in Kharkiv as Russian Drone Barrage Slams Ukraine

Ukraine’s Air Force said Russian troops fired four S-300 missiles and launched 114 attack drones and decoy drones across the country overnight.

Russian forces attacked several regions of Ukraine overnight, damaging homes, businesses, and infrastructure, and injuring civilians, officials said Wednesday, July 2.

In the city of Kherson, Russian artillery hit a hospital just before midnight Tuesday, injuring eight people – five patients and three nurses – according to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the regional military administration.

Wednesday morning, Russian troops shelled Kherson’s Korabelnyi district and attacked the village of Antonivka with drones. One civilian was hurt in Kherson, and three more were injured in Antonivka, local authorities said.

 

In the Kharkiv region, Russian drones struck the city of Kharkiv and the Kupiansk district. In Kharkiv city, a car repair shop, apartment building, public transport stop, and other structures were damaged. One drone hit an empty building, causing a fire that was later extinguished. No one was hurt there.

In the Kupiansk district, drones hit two farms, setting storage buildings and hay on fire. Three people were injured.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a drone strike damaged a private business in Kryvyi Rih and a farm in the Samarivskyi district. One woman was injured. In the Nikopol area, artillery and first-person-view (FPV) drones damaged an apartment building, a house, a garage, and power lines. Four people were hurt.

In the Odesa region, Russian drones attacked port and tourism infrastructure in the Izmail district. No casualties were reported.
