Sumy Village Hit by Russian Bomb; Two Dead, Homes Destroyed

A Russian guided bomb strike killed two people in a Sumy village on July 12. Over 60 attacks hit 35 settlements in the region in just 24 hours, officials said.

Two people were killed Saturday, July 12 after a Russian strike involving a guided aerial bomb hit a village in the Sumy territorial community, local officials said.

The Sumy Regional Military Administration announced the attack on Telegram, saying the strike occurred around 1 p.m. in the Velyka Chernechchyna Subdistrict.

Residential buildings were destroyed and damaged, and emergency crews were working at the site, officials said.

The full extent of the damage is still being assessed.

Russian forces carried out more than 60 attacks on 35 settlements in the Sumy region between the mornings of July 11 and July 12.
