Ukraine’s Defense Forces neutralized 136 enemy targets out of 164 that attacked Ukraine overnight, Oct. 17-18. Strikes were recorded at 12 locations, with 27 attack UAVs and debris at 4 locations, the press service of the Ukrainian Air Force reported.
“According to preliminary data, as of 9 a.m., air defense shot down or suppressed 136 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerber types, as well as drones of other types in the north, south, east and center of the country,” the report said.
Throughout the night, Russia attacked with 3 S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles from the Kursk Oblast and 164 attack UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera type and drones of other types from the directions of Millerovo, Orel, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. About 100 of the drones were Shaheds.
The air attack was reportedly repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Russian forces also shelled 12 settlements in the Kharkiv region over the past 24 hours, said Governor Oleh Syniehubov.
“As a result of shelling in the village of Zeleny Hai… a 58-year-old man died, an 83-year-old woman was injured,” Syniehubov wrote on his Telegram channel.
As a result of shelling in the Kupyansk district, four private houses, a workshop, two tractors, a car, a civilian business, power grids, and a cultural center were damaged. In Chuhuiv, railway infrastructure, a non-residential building, a private house, a garage, and an outbuilding, were hit. And in Kharkiv two warehouses were damaged, according to Interfax Ukraine.
