The Ukrainian partisan group Atesh said Saturday that it sabotaged a “key section” of the railway near Novobohdanivka, in the Melitopol district – halting Russian military rail traffic and enabling the Ukrainian forces to strike stalled trains.
“This sabotage instantly stopped the movement of the occupiers’ military echelons. Since the sabotage site is only 50 kilometers [31 miles] from the front line, the blocked trains became a perfect target. The Defense Forces of Ukraine (DFU) were able to promptly deliver precise missile and artillery strikes on them.”
Kyiv Post could not independently verify the reports.
According to Atesh, the destruction of rail cars and damage to railway infrastructure disrupted the supply of Russian forces operating in the Kherson and parts of the Zaporizhzhia sectors, contributing to ammunition and fuel shortages and a reduced tempo of Russian operations.
“Atesh proves: we control the enemy’s transport arteries. Every meter of railway is our zone of responsibility,” the group said.
Atesh regularly commits sabotage attacks against Russian forces.
