Kyiv Post Senior Defense Correspondent Stefan Korshak gets into the weeds and granular discussing his newly-published book The Siege of Mariupol: The Azovstal Steel Plant and Ukraine’s Battle for Survival, a history of a critical Russo-Ukraine War battle in 2022. 

A key finding of the two years of research going into the book was that Ukraine’s national guard regiment Azov became the heart and backbone of an epic defensive battle that tied down a major portion of the Russian army, and make impossible a Kremlin bid to take over Ukraine in a few weeks.
