The Ukrainian military struck a Russian pilot training center and a first-person view (FPV) drone production facility in occupied parts of the Zaporizhzhia region near the village of Komysh-Zoria, Ukraine’s General Staff reported.
FPV drones have become a key tool on the battlefield, used extensively for reconnaissance and precision strikes, with dedicated training and production sites playing a critical role in sustaining Russian operations.
According to the General Staff’s Telegram report on Tuesday, Feb. 3, Ukrainian forces also struck Russian troop concentrations in the Zaporizhzhia region and hit positions in the Terebreno area of Russia’s Belgorod region on Monday.
In addition, a Russian electronic warfare station was hit near Baranivka, in occupied parts of the Donetsk region.
The General Staff also confirmed the destruction of a Russian TOS-1A Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower system during earlier strikes in the Belgorod region. The system fires fuel-air rockets, which disperse an explosive aerosol cloud and then ignite it.
Russian forces have used Solntsepyok primarily during assault operations, targeting Ukrainian defensive positions. Solntsepyok has been documented in fighting in eastern and southern Ukraine, including during battles for cities and heavily contested frontline areas.
