Russian forces carried out a series of overnight attacks across several regions of Ukraine, killing at least one civilian and injuring more than a dozen others, including children and elderly residents, regional authorities said on Sunday.
According to Ukrainian officials, the strikes targeted residential neighborhoods and civilian infrastructure, with shelling beginning late Saturday night and continuing into the morning hours.
Attacks in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, said Russian forces attacked the Dnipro district shortly after midnight.
A 10-year-old boy was wounded and hospitalized. Doctors described his condition as moderate. Three private houses were damaged in the strike, Hanzha said in a Telegram post.
In the Nikopol area, Russian troops shelled communities with heavy artillery. No casualties were reported there, but specialists were deployed to assess damage.
Heavy toll in Zaporizhzhia Oblast
In Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Governor Ivan Fedorov said one person was killed and eight others wounded in Russian attacks over the past 24 hours.
According to regional authorities, Russian forces carried out 577 strikes on 30 settlements, including airstrikes, drone attacks, multiple-launch rocket systems and artillery fire.
Officials reported at least 67 cases of damage to residential buildings, vehicles and infrastructure. Emergency services continued assessing the destruction and assisting affected civilians across the region.
Shelling hits residential areas in Kherson Oblast
In southern Ukraine, the Kherson Regional Military Administration reported that Russian forces shelled the Korabelnyi district of the city of Kherson at around 11:10 p.m. using multiple-launch rocket systems.
Three women were injured in the attack. Two of the victims, aged 86 and 44, were hospitalized in moderate condition with blast injuries, closed head trauma and acoustic barotrauma, officials said.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian shelling across Kherson Oblast killed one person and wounded 18 others, according to regional authorities. Attacks damaged 16 apartment buildings and 67 private homes, as well as a church, a shop, warehouse facilities, outbuildings, a gas pipeline, a private garage and vehicles.
Pattern of sustained pressure
Ukrainian officials said the overnight attacks reflect a continuing pattern of pressure on civilian areas, with Russian forces relying on artillery, rockets and drones to strike residential neighborhoods and critical infrastructure.
Authorities urged residents to follow air raid alerts and remain in shelters, warning that the risk of further attacks remains high as fighting continues across southern and eastern Ukraine.
