Kyiv Announces Temporary Traffic Changes for War Anniversary

The Kyiv City Administration announced that the Maidan Nezalezhnosti metro station will be closed until 11 a.m., with some buses rerouted to accommodate events marking the war anniversary.

Kyiv said it would introduce temporary traffic changes to accommodate events marking the war anniversary on Tuesday, Feb. 24.

In an announcement, the Kyiv City Administration said the Maidan Nezalezhnosti metro station in the city center will be closed for entry and exit until 11 a.m.

It said the transfer between the red line’s Khreshchatyk station and the blue line’s Maidan Nezalezhnosti station is not affected.

“The changes are related to the holding of state-level events in the center of the capital on the anniversary of the full-scale invasion and temporary traffic restrictions provided for by the State Security Department of Ukraine,” the administration wrote.

In addition, five bus routes are also set to be rerouted to accommodate the events.

  • Bus 6TR will be replaced by 6AR between Minsky Massif and Povitroflotsky Overpass, affected from the start of service until the end of events (around 1:30 p.m.) and again from 4:30-6 p.m.
  • Bus 62 will be replaced by 62A between the Botanical Garden and Central Railway Station, affected from the start of service until around 11 a.m.
  • Buses 110 and 111 will be replaced by 110A and 111A, affected from the start of service until around noon.
  • Bus 114 will be replaced by 114A, affected from the start of service until around noon.

The administration also warned of icy roads and urged drivers to exercise caution.
