In this episode of World Talks, we are joined by Bohdan Nahaylo, Editor-in-Chief of the Kyiv Post, to discuss how the escalation in the Middle East could affect Ukraine.
Nahaylo notes that while the situation is a distraction that pushes Ukraine to the back burner, Russian attacks continue daily and there is a real risk that U.S. and European weapons supplies could dry up. Rising oil prices may temporarily benefit Russia, but if Iran’s military capacity is weakened, Ukraine could ultimately gain from losing a key Russian ally and drone supplier.
Nahaylo emphasizes that Europe is stepping up support admirably, and Ukraine is sending a strong signal to leaders backing Russia – including Viktor Orbán and Robert Fico – that they will face the consequences of siding with Moscow.
