Russian Drone Strikes Kill 2, Wound 7 in Kharkiv

Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city located near the Russian border, has faced near-daily attacks since the Russians launched their full-scale invasion.

Russian drone attacks on the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv killed two people and injured seven others on Wednesday, local authorities said.

The strike hit the Shevchenkivsky district, setting a civilian business ablaze, according to Oleh Syniehubov, governor of the Kharkiv region. Three women and four men were hospitalized following the attack.

Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city located near the Russian border, was surrounded at the start of Russia’s invasion in 2022 and has faced near-daily attacks since Russian forces were pushed back later that year.

Meanwhile, US efforts to broker a peace deal between Kyiv and Moscow have stalled, with a planned third round of talks delayed amid the escalating conflict in the Middle East.
