Ukraine, Romania Sign Agreements, Drone Production Deal

Kyiv and Bucharest signed three agreements during President Zelensky’s visit, including plans to produce drones in Romania and strengthen energy cooperation.

Ukraine and Romania signed several bilateral agreements during a visit by President Volodymyr Zelensky, including a deal on joint defense production on Romanian territory.

The agreements were announced during a joint briefing by the two presidents following their meeting.

Among the documents signed was a statement on cooperation in producing defense equipment, including drones, in Romania.

The two countries also signed framework agreements on cooperation in the energy sector and a joint declaration establishing a strategic partnership between Ukraine and Romania.

Romanian President Nicușor Dan described the agreements as a “historic moment” during a joint briefing with Zelensky.

The leaders also agreed to build two energy interconnectors between the countries as part of efforts to strengthen regional energy security.
