Russian forces shelled a residential area in Kherson’s Korabelnyi district on Tuesday, April 7, killing three civilians and injuring seven, according to regional authorities.
Kherson Regional Governor Oleksandr Prokudin said the attack lasted about 30 minutes and targeted residential buildings.
A shop, a pharmacy, and apartments in multi-story buildings were damaged in the shelling, he said.
Four women and three men were injured and are receiving medical treatment, according to Prokudin.
Russian forces also carried out airstrikes on the village of Stepanivka, injuring four people and damaging civilian infrastructure, Prokudin said.
Three guided aerial bombs were dropped on the center of the village, destroying a school building and damaging a hospital facility and nearby homes.
Three men and a 14-year-old boy were injured in the attack.
The boy sustained moderate injuries, while his father was reported to be in critical condition, according to Prokudin.
The governor later clarified that the death toll had risen to four.
“It has been confirmed that another man was fatally injured in the attack. His identity is currently being established. My condolences to the family and friends of the deceased,” he wrote.
Earlier on Tuesday, Russia struck a civilian bus in the city of Nikopol with a first-person-view (FPV) drone, killing three people and injuring 16, according to regional authorities. Dnipropetrovsk Regional Governor Oleksandr Hanzha said the drone hit the bus in the city center as it was approaching a stop, with people both inside the vehicle and waiting nearby.
Russia launched 110 drones overnight from Monday to Tuesday, including Shahed-type unmanned aerial vehicles, according to Ukraine’s Air Force.
