The shortage of manpower, conventional weapons and ammunition pushed Ukraine to rely increasingly on unmanned systems. In 2022, drones were used mostly for reconnaissance and artillery coordination. Now they perform nearly every battlefield function — replacing artillery, tanks, infantry and logistics forces alike.
Today’s drones don’t just destroy enemy equipment and personnel at a rate that outpaces Russia’s monthly mobilization. They cut supply lines, lay and clear mines, deliver food and medicine, evacuate the wounded and sink enemy ships.
