Philip Morris assigned Artem Konik as Managing Director of Philip Morris Ukraine

Artem Konik has been with Philip Morris for over 20 years and has extensive management experience across various business functions.

Philip Morris has appointed Artem Konik as the company’s Managing Director in Ukraine. He succeeds Maksym Barabash and will be responsible for managing the Company’s business in the Ukrainian market.

Artem Konik has been with Philip Morris for over 20 years and has extensive management experience across various business functions, including leadership positions in business planning, marketing, and commerce.

From the beginning of the full-scale invasion and further on, Artem played a vital role in ensuring business continuity and quickly reorganizing the company to operate under wartime conditions.

Maksym Barabash, who has led Philip Morris in Ukraine and Moldova since 2022, has been appointed Vice President of Philip Morris International for the European region. In his new role, he will be responsible for the cluster, which includes Ukraine, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Moldova. He will also remain Head of Strategic Projects for the Ukrainian market.

Over the years of working at the company, he has made a significant contribution to the transformation of the commercial function, as well as to the launch and development of the distribution of innovative Philip Morris products. His appointment is part of our strategy to develop internal leaders who know the business well and are able to lead it forward even in the most difficult conditions,” noted Maksym Barabash, Vice President of Philip Morris International for the European region.

This is only the third time in over 30 years of Philip Morris’s operation in Ukraine when a Ukrainian has become the company’s CEO.

Philip Morris remains one of the largest investors and taxpayers in Ukraine. The Company continues to invest in production, innovation, and job creation, supporting the country’s economy even in the time of a full-scale war.

In 2025, the company paid UAH 58.5 billion in taxes to the state budget, and in total during the full-scale war, about UAH 190 billion. This amount includes two legal companies: Philip Morris Ukraine PJSC and Philip Morris Sales and Distribution LLC.

Since 2022, Philip Morris has invested over USD 70 million in the Ukrainian economy, and in total over USD 770 million during its operation on the Ukrainian market.
