One Killed, 16 Injured in Russian Drone and Missile Attack on Kyiv

A Russian multi-wave missile and drone attack on Kyiv killed one person and injured 16, damaging residential buildings across several districts. Officials said rescuers pulled 10 people from rubble after part of a building collapsed in Darnytskyi district.

Large-scale Russian strikes on Kyiv killed one person and wounded at least 16 others, city authorities said on Thursday.

The casualty toll rose after a coordinated, multi-wave aerial bombardment involving missiles and drones in the early hours of Thursday.

“As things stand, we know that 16 people were injured in the attack. Sadly, one person has died,” Tymur Tkachenko, the head of Kyiv’s military administration, said on Telegram.

Officials earlier reported that rescuers had pulled 10 people from under the rubble after part of a residential building collapsed.

Rescue crews search the rubble

The sole confirmed fatality and the majority of injuries occurred on the left bank’s Darnytskyi district, where a high-impact strike severely compromised a multi-story residential building, causing a partial structural collapse.

Local emergency crews, supported by heavy machinery and search dogs, continue digging through concrete panels to locate tenants trapped beneath the debris field.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that municipal medical teams have set up a triage point near the collapse site to treat incoming wounded. City officials warn that the number of casualties is expected to fluctuate as search-and-rescue operations enter their final phases across six affected districts.
