Russian strikes on Ukraine’s Donetsk region on Tuesday, Aug. 11, set fire to a church in Kramatorsk and injured at least four people at a market in Sloviansk, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (DSNS) and local authorities said.
Church dome burns in Kramatorsk
A fire broke out at a church in Kramatorsk following the Russian strike, the DSNS said. The dome of the temple caught fire, with firefighters extinguishing a blaze covering 140 square meters (1,506 square feet).
No casualties were reported at the site.
At least four injured at Sloviansk market
At least four people were injured in shelling of Sloviansk, said Vadym Filashkin, Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration. Russian forces struck the territory of the central market at midday, when people were present.
Officials said the strike had no military logic and was calculated solely to inflict maximum harm on civilians.
“This is what Russian terror looks like in its usual form. They will answer for every act of terror,” authorities said.
