Russia has threatened Britain with consequences following reports that British-made drones were allegedly used by Ukraine to strike targets deep inside Russia.
The Russian Embassy in London accused the UK on Monday of escalating its involvement in the war and described Britain as an “accomplice and co-perpetrator” in Ukrainian attacks.
“The deeper its involvement in the conflict and the greater its support for Kiev’s [sic] terrorist machinery, the higher the price it will pay,” the embassy said.
The warning followed a Sunday Times report that drones made by two British defense companies had been used by Kyiv against military and industrial targets in Russia.
One of the manufacturers is reportedly linked to BAE Systems. The second company was not identified for security reasons.
Britain’s Defense Ministry did not immediately comment.
London has been among Kyiv’s most important military supporters since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022, providing roughly £25 billion ($33 billion) in assistance, including £16 billion in military aid.
Ukraine has increasingly taken the war back to Russian territory with long-range strikes aimed at military and industrial facilities supporting Moscow’s campaign, while Russia continues large-scale missile and drone attacks against Ukrainian cities.
