Ukraine woke up on Thursday after another deadly night of Russian attacks. Russian ballistic missiles and drones struck Kyiv.
“Air raid sirens are sounding almost every hour,” Bohdan Nahaylo, the Editor-in-Chief of Kyiv Post, told World Talks. According to Nahaylo, Russian forces are primarily targeting the outskirts of the capital, as well as critical and energy infrastructure.
“Putin’s goal is to create panic, spread terror, and undermine public morale,” he adds. At the same time, political tensions are mounting in Kyiv. A corruption investigation has reached the Office of the President, while former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov is challenging Ukraine’s wartime political status quo.
Reports have also emerged suggesting that Fedorov may be planning a visit to the United States and a meeting with Donald Trump.
