Eight people were injured in the Dnipropetrovsk region on Thursday, Aug. 27, as Russian forces struck two districts nearly 40 times with drones, artillery, and a guided aerial bomb (KAB).
The attacks targeted communities in the Nikopol and Synelnykove districts, where civilian infrastructure – including a lyceum, college, stores, vehicles, and private homes – was damaged, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Hanzha reported.
Civilians injured in Nikopol
Six people were injured in a strike on central Nikopol, according to Hanzha. Three victims were hospitalized, while the remaining three received outpatient treatment.
Russian forces also targeted the Marhanets, Pokrovske, and Chervonohryhorivka communities in Nikopol district. The attacks damaged civilian infrastructure, including educational facilities, shops, residential buildings, and private vehicles.
Two additional people were injured in the Pokrovske community. A 65-year-old man was hospitalized in moderate condition, while a 59-year-old man received outpatient treatment.
Private homes damaged in Synelykove district
In the Synelnykove district, Russian forces targeted the Vasylkivka and Petropavlivka communities, damaging private houses, according to the regional administration.
The report, however, did not specify the types of weapons used in the strikes.
Russia is increasingly using jet-powered and missile drones to strike Ukraine nationwide, with newer versions of the Geran and Banderol systems more difficult to intercept due to their speed.
On Thursday morning, Russia launched a fresh drone attack on Kyiv, just hours after an overnight barrage of ballistic missiles and drones targeted the capital and the Kyiv region.
On the same day, a Russian jet-powered drone struck an Epicentr hypermarket in Kharkiv’s Osnovianskyi district, killing one man and injuring five people, while causing partial structural damage to the building.
