Russian forces launched an attack on the city of Dnipro on Sunday, Sept. 6, striking warehouses operated by a logistics company and injuring at least two people, Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Head Oleksandr Hanzha reported.
The strike ignited a large fire at the commercial storage facilities, according to Hanzha’s statement on Telegram.
“The enemy attacked Dnipro. As a result of the strike, a fire broke out at the warehouses of a logistics company,” Hanzha initially stated.
In a subsequent update, Hanzha confirmed that two civilians sustained injuries in the attack and were receiving necessary medical treatment, while emergency services worked to contain and extinguish the blaze.
Evening drone strikes kill five across four regions
The daytime attack on Dnipro follows a wave of Russian drone strikes late Saturday, Sept. 5, that killed at least five civilians and injured 17 others across the Kharkiv, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Khmelnytskyi regions.
In the Kharkiv region, a Russian jet-powered drone hit a private residential area in central Chuhuiv, killing three members of a single family: a 45-year-old man, a 19-year-old woman, and an 11-year-old boy. The strike destroyed a private home, an outbuilding, and a garage, while severely injuring a woman and leaving three other residents suffering from acute stress reactions.
In the Kyiv region, Russian drones targeted the village of Lisne in the Bucha district, setting two private houses on fire. The attack killed two people, injured one, and damaged five homes alongside three vehicles.
In Zaporizhzhia, multiple drone strikes damaged residential houses and an administrative building late Saturday, injuring at least six people, including an elderly woman, while sparking several structure fires.
In Khmelnytskyi, a Russian drone struck a multi-story apartment block, injuring seven residents and destroying stairwells and structural floor slabs. Concurrent drone strikes also damaged commercial enterprises in the Khmelnytskyi district, triggering fires that were later brought under control by rescue crews.
