Gazprom CEO: Gazprom will do all it can to ensure transportation of gas across Ukraine to Europe

Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller has vowed that Gazprom will do all it can so that European buyers of Russian gas should not have any problems related to gas transportation across Ukraine further to Europe.

“In keeping with the transit contract that we have with Ukraine, it is Ukraine’s obligation to transport our gas to Europe,” Miller said in a May 17 analytical program hosted by Sergei Brilyov when asked whether Ukraine could illegally siphon Russian gas transported across its territory further to Europe.

“This also implies our Ukrainian partners’ responsibility for so-called illegal siphoning. But Gazprom, on its part, will be doing everything so that European consumers should not experience any problems,” he said.
