You're reading: Amstor to open first store in Kyiv by the end of 2012

Amstor Trade House LLC (Donetsk), the developer of the Amstor hypermarket and supermarket chain, plans by New Year to open a Supermarket Smaku store of a new format in Kyiv, which will be located in the Poliarny shopping mall in Obolon District, the chain's press service has reported.

The press service told Interfax-Ukraine that gross area of the store
will be 4,210 square meters and the trade area will be 2,723 square
meters.

“The opening of the first Supermarket Smaku store coincides with the
Amstor’s entering the capital’s market, and it is an important stage of
the chain’s development. We’re sure that the main feature of the new
supermarket, apart from extra freshness of food and strong own
production, will be the Cuisines of the World project,” the press
service said, citing head of the public relations department of the
Amstor chain, Volodymyr Polischuk.

According to the report, over 60% of the new trade area in the store
will be occupied by fresh food, and space in the form of the market
square will occupy 40% of the whole area of the store.

With the launch of the new format, Amstor is restyling its chain. The Amstor logo will be transformed.

Amstor Trade House LLC operates the chain of 26 stores in six regions of Ukraine (over 10,000 employees).

As reported, the Amstor hypermarket and supermarket chain is now one
of the top ten food retailers of Ukraine, placing eighth in terms of
goods turnover and ninth in terms of the total retail space.

The total retail space of the chain in 2011 came to over 83,000
square meters, and goods turnover reached around Hr 3.4 billion. The
pace of growth in goods turnover of food retail came to 19% compared to
2010.

According to a company report in the National Commission for
Securities and the Stock Market, Amstor in 2011 saw its net profit rise
by 20.1 times compared to 2010, to Hr 131.183 million. Its net income
in 2011 increased by 16.7%, to Hr 727.672 million.
