POLTAVA – Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said that he doubts that the necessary conditions for the cancellation of the moratorium on farmland sales will be created by 2013.

“Currently we are finishing work on the land register, as it’s
impossible to take serious decisions on the land market without a land
cadastre and land register… We have to carry out serious work on the
inventory of land and the evaluation of the land stock,” Azarov said in
an interview with Poltava regional TV and Radio Company on September 22.

“I can’t say for sure whether we will resolve all of the difficult
problems within the remaining 2-3 months, and I never give empty
promises,” he said.

As reported, the law on the prolongation of the moratorium on farmland sales will be in effect in Ukraine until January 1, 2013.
