Dnipropetrovsk, Oct. 25 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said that Ukraine hopes for understanding from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

"The talks [with the IMF] will not be easy, but we are looking forward to achieving mutual understanding," he said in Dnipropetrovsk on Tuesday during a meeting with the employees of the state-run Yuzhmash engineering plant.

"We are fulfilling all the requirements of the IMF. The IMF demands that we raise the price of gas for households. We have complied with all of the requirements, but there is a limit. And we think that we should not raise the price of gas, because we will come to terms with Russia on the gas price in the coming month and we’re expecting a different price," Azarov said.

If the IMF disagrees, "we will think," he added.

"We need loans on terms that will allow our country to prosper," Azarov said.
