Boryspil Airport, Ukraine’s main international and domestic airline hub outside of Kyiv, is close to launching a new passenger terminal.

Construction of Terminal F (above) is nearing completeion, and government officials predicted that it could make a soft opening ahead of the Aug. 24 Independence Day celebrations.

The formal launch date for the $42 million project is in October. Plans envision that yet another terminal will be added to boost the airport’s capacity ahead of the Union of European Football Associations’ Euro 2012 soccer championship, which Ukraine and Poland are co-hosting. (www.kmu.gov.ua)
