Ukraine and Russia agreed on a new price for Ukraine’s natural-gas imports and accords will be signed by the countries’ presidents late this month or early in December, Ekonomicheskie Izvestia reported, citing a person familiar with the matter in the administration of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, cited Bloomberg in a report from Kyiv. The price agreed is between $220 and $230 per 1,000 cubic meters and Ukraine can pay and obtain loans for gas imports in Russian rubles, according to the newspaper. Russian investors will have a privileged position if they bid for state assets in Ukraine, according to Izvestia.
