Simferopol-based state-run enterprise Chornomornaftogaz in 2012 will increase payment of taxes, duties and other obligatory payments by almost 1.7 times, toHr 1.264 billion, Deputy Board Chairman Oleksandr Katsuba has said.

"If in 2011 Chornomornaftogaz paidHr 765.5 million, in 2012 payments are anticipated atHr 1.264 billion," the company’s press service said, citing Katsuba.

The foreseen increase in tax payments to the budgets of various levels by UAH 500 million in 2012 is linked to a rise in liabilities on tax on profit, payment of value added tax during the customs clearance of new equipment and with the increase in natural gas production and creation of new jobs.

At the end of the first quarter of 2012, Chornomornaftogaz paidHr 236.687 million in taxes, duties and other obligatory payments, a rise of 84% orHr 108.359 million on January-March 2011.

As reported, Chornomornaftogaz in January-May 2012 increased natural gas extraction by 11.4% year-over-year, to 447.9 million cubic meters. The increase in extraction was reached thanks to continuation of the improvement of existing sea fields and an overhaul of wells.

Chornomornaftogaz increased its production of natural gas by 0.5% in 2011, to 1.056 billion cubic meters, and its oil production by 1.1% to 8,800 tonnes, while its gas condensate production dropped by 4.8% to 67,100.

In 2012, the company plans to extract 1.15 billion cubic meters of gas and 1.65 billion cubic meters in 2013.

Chornomornaftogaz carries out offshore development in the Ukrainian sections of the Black and Azov Seas. The company also produces hydrocarbons at fields the Crimea, and operates the Hlibovske underground gas storage facilities and trunk pipelines on the peninsula. It is wholly owned by Naftogaz Ukrainy.
