SIMFEROPOL - Crimean Prime Minister Anatoliy Mohyliov has offered Ukrainian businessman Dmytro Firtash to invest into the state-owned farms, which were handed over by the Ukrainian government from the Defense Ministry and the Agrarian Policy Ministry of Ukraine to the Crimean government.

At a press conference in Simferopol on March 27, Mohyliov said that Firtash, who is chairman of the Council of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine, will hold a meeting with Crimean employers in Simferopol on March 28.

"I discussed with him the issues of investing funds into Crimea. You saw that he is building a large greenhouse complex in Ternopil region? We have talked with him, including about Crimea. He expressed interest. Particularly given that we handed over state farms of the Agrarian Policy Ministry of Ukraine and the Defense Ministry. And now we can offer actual land, where one can build a modern farming complex," Mohyliov said.

He also said that the Council of Ministers of Crimea is currently working on the transfer of the farms of the Defense Ministry and the Agrarian Policy Ministry of Ukraine under the management of the Crimean government. According to the Crimean prime minister, these facilities can be offered as investment areas to businessmen for the projects, which are important for the peninsula. According to the premier, Crimea needs to develop dairy farming since the price of milk on the peninsula is much higher than in other regions of Ukraine.

In addition, the Crimean Council of Ministers transferred the assets of the state-owned military farms, which were previously given to the Crimean government, under the management of the Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry of Crimea.

As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on February 22 transferred a number of state-owned property complexes, such as state farms, which previously belonged to the Ukrainian Defense Ministry and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, under the management of the Council of Ministers of Crimea.
