You're reading: Danish-based Trigon Agri could buy three Ukrainian farms

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMC) has permitted Farming Ukraine Limited (Cyprus), owned by Danish-based Trigon Agri, to acquire shares in the Stepne farm (Kirovohrad region), United Agrarian Systems (Kyiv) and Molniya-1 (Kharkiv region), the AMC has said.

This will allow the Cypriot company to obtain over 50% of the voting shares on the companies’ boards.

Trigon Agri was established in 2006. At present its assets are located in Ukraine, Russia, and Estonia. The company specializes in grain and dairy production, and agricultural crop sales.

As of late first half of 2011, the group’s total land bank came to 176,000 hectares, including almost 55,000 hectares in Ukraine.

Trigon Agri in January-September 2011 saw Euro 4.3 million in net profit, compared to a Euro 8.15 million net loss year-over-year, according to an interim company financial report.
