You're reading: Energomarket pays feed-in tariffs in full as of March 25

Starting from March 25, 2015, state-run Energomarket company pays feed-in tariffs for electricity generated from renewable sources in full, converting them at a forex rate of Hr 32-34 per euro, member of the National Commission of Ukraine for Energy and Housing and Utility Services Regulation (NCER) Andriy Herus said in Kyiv on March 26.

“Yesterday and today we transferred full sums of tariffs (indexed at a rate of Hr 32-34 per euro), without temporary reductions. Now, the feed-in tariffs are 2-2.2 times higher than those before March 25: Hr 11.6-15.8 per kWh are paid to solar power plants and Hr 2.2-3.9 per kWh to wind farms. Herus recalled that the Commission had previously reduced feed-in tariffs by 50-55 percent being guided by the fact that the state of emergency was in effect in the energy sector at that time.

However, the Cabinet did not prolong the state or emergency at its meeting on March 25. According to Herus, higher feed-in tariffs as of March 25, 2015 will trigger insufficient heat supplies, as the wholesale market prices won’t be changed.”If the state of emergency isn’t extended, Hr 300 million will be needed additionally to pay feed-in tariffs in April. Total spending on feed-in tariffs [in April] will be Hr 850 million,” Herus said.
