You're reading: Inflation in Ukraine in January comes to 3.1 percent

Inflation in Ukraine in January 2015 was 3.1 percent compared to 3 percent in December and 1.9 percent in November last year, the State Statistics Service has reported.

 According to its data, in annual terms (compared to the same month last year) inflation accelerated to 28.5 percent from 24.9 percent last year.

As reported, in 2013 consumer prices in Ukraine increased by 0.5 percent, while in the previous year they decreased by 0.2 percent.

The national budget of Ukraine for 2015 is built on the conservative scenario of the situation, providing for the decline in GDP by 4.3 percent with inflation being 13.1 percent, while the NBU expects GDP to fall by 4-5 percent with inflation being 17.2 percent.

According to the State Statistics Service, consumer prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages in January 2015 compared to December 2014 were up by 4.7 percent.
