KYIV, Aug 4 – On Thursday, Kyiv journalists had the chance to meet with Israeli investors who are planning to reconstruct Kyiv’s central Besarabka block, Kievskie Vedomosty reported on Friday.

The price of the project is estimated at $150 million.

The Israeli firm is full of enthusiasm about the project, and has experience in similar projects undertaken in Africa and Eastern Europe.

The company has completed negotiations with Kyiv’s city administration and were issued a permit to begin construction.

According to the plan, the new block should include four storeys worth of parking, another three floors dedicated to shops and stores, and at the very top of the structure, the building will contain apartments.

In all, a 40-storey building is planned.

Industry insiders say that this project took into consideration the experience of all the previous projects that were planned for the reconstruction of the Besarabka block.
