Prydniprovska Railways (Dnipropetrovsk) will contest at court the decision of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMC) to fine the railways Hr 50 million for abuse of its dominant position on the national market for providing passengers with bed linen in trains.

The railways told Interfax-Ukraine that the company does not agree to
the AMC’s decision, as the pricing of services to provide passengers
with bed linen in trains is carried out in accordance with the
applicable legislation.

“In the course of considering the case, the AMC provided
recommendations No. 13-rk of March 26, 2013 regarding revising the cost
of services rendered by the railways. The railways has fulfilled the
recommendations in full,” reads a statement.

In this regard, the AMC investigation department on July 24, 2013
gave preliminary findings on the specified case. At the same time,
according to the railways, it had fulfilled the recommendations for the
entire year, which indicates no violations of competition laws by the
railways.

Given the above mentioned, Prydniprovska Railways considers the AMC
decision to fine it Hr 50 million inconsistent with the applicable law.
