The Rozetka.ua online electronics store has suspended the delivery of goods to its customers in connection with the closing of its warehouse, a representative of the store has told Interfax-Ukraine.

“Goods are not being delivered right now because the warehouse is closed for technical reasons. We plan to resume supplies by the end of the week,” he said.

He neither confirmed nor denied the link between the suspension of supplies and checks by tax service bodies.

The taking of orders, according to the shop representative, is being performed as normal.

As reported, the State Tax Service in Kyiv on July 2 reported on conducting checks last week on the building at 82 Frunze Street earlier rented by Rozetka.ua (Kyiv).

After the checks conducted on June 27 the premise was sealed.

As reported, tax officers on April 19, 2012, conducted searches in three offices and three warehouses belonging to Rozetka.ua. Following the checks, the tax authorities brought an action under Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine against the director of Rozetka.ua LLC, whose major business is e-commerce.

According to tax officers, the company imported commodities at understated prices, which made it possible for it to earn surplus profit, which was brought into the shadows via the accounts of bogus companies. As a result of this, the national budget lost over UAH 7 million.

The Rozetka.ua management, in turn, judicially contested the accusation by the tax police of tax evasion amounting to more than UAH 7 million.
