Consumer prices in Ukraine in February 2016 decreased by 0.4 percent, after rising by 0.9 percent in January and 0.7 percent in December, the State Statistics Service has reported.

According to its data, in annual terms (compared to the same period of 2015) this allowed to slow down inflation from 43.3 percent last year and 40.3 percent in January to 32.7 percent – the lowest level since February last year.

In general, over the two months of this year consumer prices in Ukraine rose by 0.5 percent.

As reported, in 2016 the government and the National Bank of Ukraine predicted a slowdown in inflation to around 12 percent with the growth of the economy being about 1 percent.

Growth in consumer prices in Ukraine in 2015 accelerated to 43.3 percent from 24.9 percent in 2014 and 0.5 percent in 2013.
