Kyiv, Dec. 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine has expanded its potential in exporting agricultural products by 35% in 2011, and the surplus in foreign trade this year totals $5 billion, Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk has said in an interview with the Fifth TV Channel.

"This year showed that the amount of exported agricultural products to the European Union is growing, and to Russia it is also expanding. We’ve boosted our potential in exporting by 35% this year, and we have a surplus of $5 billion. Today the quality of our products suits the European Union and other countries," he said.

"I’m pleased that the geography of agricultural product exports and its volumes grow each year," the minister added.
