Svarog West Group has started building an elevator with a storage capacity of 40,000 tonnes of grain, leguminous crops and oilseeds in Chernivtsi region, reads a press release of the corporation.

The press service said that around UAH 70 million would be invested in the project.

It is expected that the construction of the new elevator will finish in April 2013.

The elevator will have Italian-made equipment and will be able to accept up to 100 tonnes of grain per hour.

“The big advantage of the elevator’s location is the proximity of railway tracks, which are part of Pivdenno-Zakhidna railways,” reads the report.

Next year the corporation plans to start building another elevator in Chernivtsi region, with a storage capacity of 50,000 tonnes.

At present, Svarog West Group has six elevators with a combined capacity of 140,000 tonnes.
