Dnipropetrovsk – President of Tajikistan Emomalii Rahmon is planning to send Tajik farmers to Dnipropetrovsk region to learn how to breed ostriches.

According to an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent, the president said this during a visit to the Agro-Soyuz Corporation’s ostrich farm.

The president also visited a dairy complex of the Agro-Soyuz Corporation in Synelnykove district (Dnipropetrovsk region) with 2,000 of Holstein cows. The complex sells up to 54 tonnes of milk daily and 9,500 liters of milk per annum.

"Our task is to develop the agroindustrial complex and switch from raw farm produce to the production of high-quality foodstuffs. This will help ensure exports of foods that meet the world’s highest standards, in particular, to Tajikistan," Dnipropetrovsk Governor Oleksandr Vilkul said.

After the overview of the farming sector of Dnipropetrovsk region, Tajikistan’s President instructed that country’s sectorial ministry to organize an exchange of experience and trainings for Tajik farmers in Dnipropetrovsk region.
