Kyiv (Interfax-Ukraine) – TriMob LLC will provide mobile communications services instead of telecoms giant PJSC Ukrtelecom as of January 1, 2012, according to a report by Ukrtelecom.

Ukrtelecom says that mobile communications services will be provided on the previous conditions to the subscribers who have agreed to change the operator.

A subscriber is considered to have agreed to change the operator if he or she does not submit a written application stating disagreement with the change of the operator and the refusal to continue using mobile communications services after December 31, 2011.

As was reported, Ukrtelecom in September 2011 decided to separate out its mobile business into a separate start-up – TriMob LLC. Ukrtelecom planned to stop providing mobile communications services from the first day of the month that follows the month when TriMob obtains permission for a corresponding mobile number resource.

In November 2011, the National Communications Regulatory Commission issued a license to TriMob for mobile communications services across Ukraine until 2020. Later on, the commission reregistered the identification code of the mobile network and all the related mobile communications licenses earlier possessed by Ukrtelecom.
