Ukraine International Airlines (UIA, Kyiv) has signed a code sharing agreement on the joint operation of routes with Air France-KLM, Europe's largest air carrier, UIA Press Secretary Yevhenia Satska has told Interfax-Ukraine.

According to the agreement, citizens from Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Lviv and Odesa will be able to get to Marseille, Lyon and Nice via a connection in Kyiv.

UIA is a marketing carrier and Air France is an operation carrier on the routes.

UIA will be an operation carrier and Air France a marketing one on flights from France to Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Lviv and Odesa.

Previously, the airlines signed a code sharing agreement on the joint exploitation of the Kyiv-Paris route.

Closed joint-stock company Ukraine International Airlines was founded in 1992. It was reorganized as a private joint-stock company in 2010.

The company has 21 Boeing 737 aircraft of various models, a Fokker-50 airplane, and a regional An-148 aircraft. Its main airport is Kyiv’s Boryspil International Airport.

Currently the company’s shareholders are UIA Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH (58.6%), UIA Holding GmbH (25.84%), and Capital Investment Project (15.55%).
