The Ukrainian government will submit a bill to parliament proposing 26 types of sanctions against individuals and legal entities financing terrorism and supporting the occupation of Crimea, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has said.

When speaking at a press briefing after a cabinet session in Kyiv on Friday, Aug. 8, Yatsenyuk said that such sanctions include asset freezes, bans on running businesses on the territory of Ukraine, online broadcasts in the country, privatization, the use of licenses, as well as transit across its territory.

There will also be special economic sanctions such as licensing and bans on financial operations, as well as “ordinary sanctions – bans on entry and movements,” he said.

The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine will adopt all decisions concerning the application of such sanctions on suggestions from the government, Yatsenyuk said.

Hopefully, the country’s parliament will pass this bill on Aug. 12, he added.
