You're reading: Ukraine ups poultry exports by 22%, pork imports 4.2 times down, says state fiscal service

Ukraine in Jan.-Sept. 2014 exported 123,568 tonnes of poultry and by-products, which is 22% up year-over-year, the State Fiscal Service has reported. 

The service said that in money terms exports of poultry grew by 17.6%, to $197.794 million.

Imports of poultry and by-products over the period fell by 30.8%, to 38,358 tonnes, and in money terms — by almost two times, to some $38.506 million.

The service said that exports of pork over the period grew by 1.6 times year-over-year, to 4,688 tonnes. Pork exports totaled $13.742 million compared to $13.45 million a year ago.

Imports of pork to Ukraine over the period plunged by 4.2 times, to 26,185 tonnes. Pork worth $68.01 million was imported to the country, which is four time down on Jan.-Sept. 2013.
