The association of famous Ukrainian businessmen Ukrainian Business Initiative will be achieving equal conditions for doing business in the country, the author of the idea to create the association and co-owner of ISD Corporation Serhiy Taruta has said.

“We want to have absolutely equal conditions for doing business, without preferences. We want a right judicial and enforcement system be created. We want private business be protected by the state,” he said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Monday where the association was presented.

Taruta said that participants of the association earlier believed that the independent way of development via lobbying for their needs, political and administrative resources would help them to create effective companies.

“Now we see that this way was no go,” he said.

President of Galnaftogaz Concern Vitaliy Antonov said that with today’s declaration to create the association businessmen want to initiate absolutely other economic relations in the state.

“We need to declare a switch from the oligarchic economy to the economy based and formed by small and medium-size enterprises (SME),” he said.

Concorde Capital CEO Igor Mazepa said that Ukraine is now in the situation when it is uncompetitive even compared to the neighbor countries.

“[The situation is that] foreigners do not bring their money and solutions to us, but Ukrainian companies and businessmen are leaving the country,” he said.

As reported, in 2015, Taruta held two meetings with businessmen where the creation of the association of businessmen to attract additional attention to the problems of business in Ukraine in the conditions of continuous crisis and negligence of authorities and try to find new tools to settle these problems was discussed.
