ST. PETERSBURG - Vnesheconombank (VEB) may sell its Ukrainian subsidiary, Prominvestbank (Kyiv), in the medium term, VEB head Sergei Gorkov said during an interview with Rossiya-24 television channel.

“We had a quite difficult situation with the Ukrainian asset in March, we stabilized it. In general, we, as an institute, are not seeing the task of managing commercial banks, all the same we should engage in development,” he said.

Gorkov said that the parent company is already seeing interest from investors in its subsidiary in Ukraine. “We are seeing interest in our bank from foreign investors. We will actively work on this. Now a change in the team at the Ukrainian bank is taking place. We are confident that we will be able to sell these assets in the medium term,” he said.
