Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said that the talks on the price of Russian natural gas for Ukraine will be difficult.

"What is the situation with the [gas] talks between Ukraine and Russia like? They are difficult… It is difficult to forecast how they would end," the president said during a press conference after the Ukraine-EU Summit in Kyiv on Monday.

The president said that CEO of the national JSC Naftogaz Ukrainy Yuriy Boiko flied to Moscow for talks almost every day.

Yanukovych also said that notwithstanding a discount of $100 under to the Kharkiv agreement, Ukraine still paid quite a high price for the Russian gas.
