One of the subsidiaries of regional electricity distributor Zhytomyroblenergo (controlled by VS Energy International) and Luhansk Energy Union (LEU, controlled by businessman Konstantin Grigorishin) have submitted bids to participate in a tender for the sale of a 50 percent stake in regional power supply company Zakarpattiaoblenergo, an informed source on the market has told Interfax-Ukraine.

“One of the subsidiaries of Zhytomyroblenergo and Luhansk Energy Union have submitted bids,” the source said.

As reported, the tender to sell shares in Zakarpattiaoblenergo is to be held on January 20, 2012. Some 62,301,621 shares in Zakarpattiaoblenergo are to be sold. The starting price of the company’s shares is Hr 2.17 per share. The shares are quoted at Hr 1.20 per share on the Ukrainian Exchange.

According to the terms approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on November 2, 2011, the bidder for the stake in Zakarpattiaoblenergo has to have had transmitted electricity itself of a volume of at least 30 percent of the amount of electricity transmitted by Zakarpattiaoblenergo within the past three years, or own a company that has transmitted such an amount of electricity.

In addition, the winner will have to invest Hr 5 million in the company according to the concept for the company’s development.
