At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on January 9, Ukraine's Prime Minister Mykola Azarov ordered an acceleration of the preparations for the signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.

The prime minister also stressed the need to complete the preparation of the necessary legislation to allow the implementation of the action plan on the liberalization of the EU’s visa regime with Ukraine, the information and communication department of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.

“The 16th Ukraine-EU summit, which will take place on February 25, 2013 in Brussels, will be an important event, and we need to prepare for it properly,” Azarov said.

An extended government meeting will be held in February to address the issues of cooperation between Ukraine and the EU and the implementation of the state policy of European integration, the cabinet said.
