The European Union will continue providing material and financial assistance to Ukraine, Deputy Head of Ukraine's Presidential Administration Valeriy Chaly has said.

“Today, we, together with the European Commission president, discussed additional financial assistance from the European Union. We are not talking about numbers now, but we do say that it can be a third wave of financial assistance to Ukraine,” Chaly said at a briefing on Aug. 19.

In addition, the issues of assistance to Ukraine will be discussed during a visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Kyiv.

“We’re looking forward to German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s visit to Kyiv, during which the sides will obviously consider issues related to the east of Ukraine and financial assistance from Germany,” Chaly said.
